Mahdist period C.1882-98. 53 1/4" length. Iron head with sharply barbed point and stiffened medial formed by offsetting the edges. Rectangular bolster and opened seam socket. Storage rusted with pitting and brown patina throughout. Natural wood haft with mottled tan/brown color and glossy patina.
