Type specifically produced in Albacete, southeastern Spain, known for production of edged weapons for centuries. This example with 7" clipped point wedge section blade engraved with scrolls. Each side with double fullers with red pigment partially remaining. Engraved brass bolster and grip mounts. The grip medial with the characteristic swell made of horn inlaid with brass panels (one lacking) and wire bands. Contrary to some information, these are not plug bayonets. The grips are ergonomically designed for thrusting with the swell enclosed in the fingers and the butt seated in the heel of the palm for maximum force.
