Late 18th century-1800. Made in Albacete. 9” elongated leaf-shaped diamond section blade. Iron cross guard and barrel form bone grip inlaid with scalloped brass bands and flanked by pierced and banded conical brass mounts. Highly regarded and used throughout Spain, these are particularly associated with Basque Resistance during Spain alliance with Napoleon, 1803-08.
