Second quarter of the 18th century. Basket of good rounded form with S scroll side bars, sometimes suggested to indicate a Sterling maker. See Culloden, The Swords and the Sorrows, #1:30 for a very similar example. Segmented mushroom form pommel. Spirally fluted leather covered grip with wire wrap and terminal knots. 31" broad and narrow fullered blade. Well-worn with good uniform patina. The basket with a few small dents/bruises from use. A good honest veteran of the Rebellion period.
