1 ¼” diameter bun form red terra cotta disk pressed into a die and fired. The impression thus preserved. Provincial, southern Mediterranean, and the script possibly cursive Greek. Greek and Latin were universal in the Roman Empire but other languages were spoken in provincial areas. Theaters are well known and preserved throughout the North African provinces which are also associated with the red clay seen here. The text is evidently in a regional dialect from that area.
