Very distinctive form (Henig X). Copper, size about 6 ¼ of very heavy proportions with thick broad stirrup form band 4.0mm at the bottom, swelling to massive ridged shoulders. The bezel set with what may be a bronze beveled edge oval, or possibly a polished stone. Notably, the fit of the inset is very precise. The inlay in fine polish. The ring as found with the surface mottled and lightly encrusted. Iconic form for a Roman ring.
