9 1/2” length, natural horn with nicely double ringed spout. The bottom compressed to oval form with good domed wood base mounted with a brass suspension stud. Ringed pinched form stopper. Great age character with some raising of the grain to the base. Remnants of carved initials of the owner and glossy mottled patina. See Neumann p.150. Used to carry coarse powder or finer priming powder as the situation dictated. A charming example which recently came to market in Massachusetts.
