Dated 1910, from a well-known group of daggers and short swords of hunting sword form and based on Dutch models. This example of huge proportions with thick 21 3/8 blade of mandau form. The group is identified by their hilt form, blade decoration and village name (most commonly Tjikeroeh) which usually appears to the blade root above the date. In this instance the village is Tjicatjing and date 1910. Finely made with original light tool finish and well chiseled decoration. The hilt excellent with good patina and evidence of use as expected for the period. Unique!
