9th-11th century AD. Gilt bronze wedding ring. Size 2 ¾ for the small finger as was the custom. Heavy band cut, about ¾ its circumference with a deep zig-zag pattern. The remainder of ridged section. The thickening of the bottom was a common custom in The Medieval period. The balance clearly hand-cut and the ring section especially thick to provide the material for the deep relief. Professionally refurbished with the 24kt gold overlay restored. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
