9th-11th century AD. Broad flat face ring, 0.58", over 1/2" diameter outside and 0.49" inside. 2.8mm width with rounded face. Made with a central core to distribute the molten metal and heat. The core was then laboriously removed by hand with the remnants still visible. The use of beard rings by Vikings is well recorded though very few genuine examples survive. Professionally refurbished for modern wear with the pure silver overlay restored. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
