Patterned after the 1850 Staff & Field officer’s sword with knuckle bow and folding side guard to the hilt. Probably dating to the late 19th century. 28” blade with foliage, patriotic motifs, family (man, woman & child) with eyes raised to Heaven and owner’s name. Plated scabbard with small dents and discoloration. The hilt and scabbard mounts with fine deep chasing.
