Corbridge type C.1st to early 2nd century AD, the Time of Christ. Bronze, 1 1/8” width. Trefoil terminal and flared base axel channel. Made of a single folded plate and double thickness throughout. Excellent surface preservation with three securing rivets remaining and losses as show. Used for articulating the shoulder plates and attaching the torso plates. a search for a Corbridge hinge plate will produce a virtually identical example. A genuine element of Roman Imperial armor.
