Each with flared terminals as adopted by the Knights Hospitaller as the Maltese Cross. The front incised with a stick cross and the back hollowed for the inclusion of a holy relic, typically, a hair of a saint or a splinter of the true cross. Carried by European Pilgrims traveling to the Holy Land to visit the land where Christ lived and died.
