17th-18th century. 82 1/4" length. Thick slender head with diamond section armor piercing point above medially ridged faceted section stepped to convex section base. Conical socket with diamond form projections lapping the point base in the Persian taste. Metal quite crisp and bright with minor staining. Wood or cane haft, the upper 18" laminated over an iron spine to preclude cutting. That construction as found on battle axes and hammers as well. Haft shows great age and wear with dark olive paint showing losses. The base with splinter worn over from use. Desirable form early example in untouched original condition.
