Available information dates these as c.1600-1800 with just a handful recorded by British treasure hunters. Commercially produced, lead, 7/8" diameter with depressed center pierced with two holes. Strung on a cord and wound, it would spin at great speed when the cord was pulled and relaxed. We replicated these with buttons as children, without knowing about their hefty forbears. Mottled encrustation from burial. Very rare.
