Late 17th century. Particularly large format, (matted to 13 1/2” x 9 1/2”) suggesting a royal owner. Gouache on parchment, depicting a Noble or Royal ruler seated in audience with twelve attendants and subjects. Each with hands extended and two holding chevron form objects. All but one (perhaps a woman) bearded. A cushion and book lay before the seat. The main character identified in the margin. Reverse with profuse text. Newly custom framed with matted and glazed both sides to allow viewing front and back. Note: Custom framing alone would cost about $350.00-400.00 based on our 18 years of gallery and framing experience. Minor flaking to the paint on a couple of the garments as expected.
