This dagger was equally well suited for left hand use with a rapier or as a primary weapon. The forte of the blade is recessed for the thumb both sides assuring maximum control. The pommel and guard are chiseled in foliage and retain virtually all of their original blued finish. It is interesting to note that the pommel is decorated both sides while the guard is decorated on the outside only. This is explained by the fact that when worn sheathed on the belt, the hilt would hang away from the body exposing both sides of the pommel, however, the guard would be close to the belt with the back obscured from view. 11 3/8" length blade.
