15 1/2” length made from cassowary bone, specifically to kill an unfaithful husband! Shaped with a tapered blade for 2/3 its length. The joint encased in a fine woven band with extended crossed bands, the ends of which are each mounted with three double cassowary feather tufts on shell and seed bead extensions. Unfaithful husbands were killed by their wife’s brother and the dagger left in place as a marker for justice and thus, no retribution was warranted from the victim’s family. Complete with excellent age character throughout.
