This ring belonged to a man of the merchant class in the years following the fall of the Roman Empire. It was meant to advertise his status above the peasant class. It is slightly oval, with a nub on the bottom, carryovers from the Roman taste. It is size 7 ½, 2.4mm width band at the base. The raised bezel is inscribed with lineal bands, hand stippled which may have supernatural significance, as Paganism was widespread at the time. It has been professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold overlay restored and gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
