Oval bezel cut with several curvilinear marks or ciphers. Used to impress the signature of the owner in wax or clay. Language differences and illiteracy were barriers to trade. Signets allowed for universal verification of a signature facilitating trade at distance. Professionally refurbished with the silver surface restored. Gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
