MEDIEVAL EUROPEAN CROSS, 1200-1500 AD

The High Gothic Period following the Crusades. Gilt bronze, just under 1 1/2” (1.45”) height with the suspension ring. The cross beam centered. Concentric circle beam terminals “crutches” from the Jerusalem cross which made it five crosses in one, commemorating the five wounds of Christ. Concentric circle to the middle and four others inside the beam angles, repeating the five wound motif. Both sides decorated. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored, on an 18” modern sterling silver neck chain. Gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
