Probably 18th century. 13 5/8” d.e. blade made from a broad sword, perhaps after the 1746 disarmament which banned the ownership of swords. Huge grip, 7 ½” length made from red deer antler. The root comprising the pommel of the sword a full 2 ½” breadth. Uniform aging with spotty oxidation and forging lamination to the blade. Characteristically Scottish in it’s over the top proportions and use of a trophy size antler for a grip.
