17th-18th century. 25 1/4" length and well over four pounds weight! Medially ridged iron head with thick armor piercing point and scalloped edges. Medially ridged scalloped recurved hook with small tassel form base mount. Tapered shaft with four large ivory scales each side. Iron toggle to the butt. Shows its great age and use. As these were used daily in peace and at war, they will show much more wear than ordinary weapons. The iron with mottled patina and spotty oxidation. The ivory with age checks but no losses and deep patina with well encrusted surface.
