Second half of the 18th century. 14" octagonal barrel cut with two dove tails for sights. Large banana form lock with stepped tail. Steel trigger guard. The wood stock with no side plate but the lock screws simply recessed in the wood. Large ball butt made without a butt cap, cracked in antiquity and with a spike reuniting the grip. A brute, made with no regard for grace. Classic as used by pirates, the condition more typical for nautical artifacts than firearms. The repairs clearly indicative of heavy use.
