Early 20th century. 29" d.e. blade decorated with crusades battle scenes and owner's name Fred G Mahler. The base with Henderson Ames Kalamazoo maker's name. Lavishly decorated hilt with composition grip emblazoned with FGM monogram. Matching scabbard with enameled cross and crown motif and owner's name repeated. Juts minor aging including slight crazing of the grip seam and minor freckling to the scabbard plating. Fred G Mahler is listed as born in Germany in 1880 and living in Grand Rapids, Michigan in the 1940 census. Surely additional information will emerge as the internet evolves.
