Middle Edo period C.1750-1800. Willow leaf form, See Stone p.673. This form called yanagiha. Tapered tang. 6 1/2" total length. Tang lightly rusted and head crisp with a little frosty texture one side. Good example capable of penetrating the lacquered iron armor of the period.
