Edo, mid-19th century. 37 1/2” length, woven split cane in a spiral pattern alternating with rectangular maze and chevron bands. Opposing ears for silk carrying cord with four fine tassels. Lacquered overall in a red/brown. The interior matte finished. The bottom with some wear and the body with two shallow dents. The balance excellent.
