Brass hilt with radially fluted mushroom form pommel. Heavy brass guard with compresses medial. Diced ebony grip. 28 ¾” heavy fighting blade, slightly curved with broad fuller and long clipped point. German maker’s mark to the ricasso. Blade show medium gray patina with some frosty oxidation. Hilt with dark patina. Dating to the 1830 Revolution which was spawned by revolutions in Belgium and France, both of which resulted in concession by the monarchies. Revolutions flare up in provinces across the Italian peninsula and were finally crushed by the intervention of the Austrian Army in 1831.
