Made for the Eastern (Ottoman Turkish) market. Large proportions for horseman with 13 1/8" .65 cal barrel chiseled in high relief at the breech with foliage surrounding a maker's mark of a stallion. Damascus twist pattern weak but evident. Top flat for sighting and engraved tang. Beveled edge stepped tail lock engraved with foliage. Brass furniture with engraved butt cap and barrel band. Back escutcheon worn with the right side damaged. 20 overall. Walnut full stock, the fore stock with ridged bottom, made without a ramrod. The left side with brass piques opposite the lock. Stock excellent with a few bruises and checks. Iron with glossy brown patina.
