18th century-1800, Yemen. 46" octagonal barrel, .70 cal with faceted muzzle and raised rear peep site. Full stock with decorated brass barrel and butt bands. The stock inset with rows and clusters of mother of pearl circles and metallic nubbed circles. The butt of the stock encased in a hide covered bundle. Shows considerable use and age with wear, surface soiling, minor splinters and a few of the inlays lacking. Barrel with glossy matt brown patina. Dating to the period of Yemani independence through military resistance against Egyptian and Ottoman occupation. Rare form.
