17th-18th century. Forged iron, 15 7/8” length. Hollowed rectangular section slightly tapered side guards flanking double faceted swelled medial hand grips. Triangular blade with diamond section armor piercing point and rounded medial at the root. The blade of watered steel evidence by active patterned lamination. Typical well-worn condition with areas of black oxidation/pitting mixed with the smooth gray surface but not overcleaned as typically found.
