The breech group incorporating a maker's mark and all decorated with gold overlay. The breech base and barrel decorated with gold as well. Tiger stripe full stock with typical angled seam. Ball trigger with the guard recess inlaid with bone. Finer floral engraved miquelet lock a working life replacement with original lock recess inlaid with wood to receive it. Recent scholarship has followed the production of Ottoman arms and shown that they were typically made from components produced in various specialty centers, and embellished after assembly in still other distant specialty centers. The construction and modification of this pistol is consistent with that process.
