20 7/8" wedge section blade with broad and narrow fullers, back edged and the point. The forte with scroll filled panels flanking commemorative "Sun King" faces. The fullers with hound and boar and hound and stag motifs, respectively. Bronze hilt, formerly gilt, with hound's head quillon terminals. Spirally fluted bone grip with inset stippled copper band. A little scattered pitting to the blade. Type which largely served as civilian side arms which were pressed into service during the revolution. See Neumann 102.S.
