That section preceded the heavy armor-piercing points of the 15th and 16th centuries dating it to the transitional mail and plate period for regular soldiers. This is the lance of a knight, who would have worn full plate armor which, if it had survived would be valued in the multi-millions today. It dates to the period of the Battle of Agincourt and earlier. See Stone figure 512 #5 for a French Gothic lance of the 15th century which is similar in profile, but with a fully developed armor piercing point.
