This pocket pistol was made by Antoine Dumarest of St. Etienne, recorded working with his brother Joseph, 1783-1808. It is a charming example with cursive signature of the maker to the breech with 1 1/2" .60 cal. keyed screw off barrel. The breech is Liege proofed. The barrel and breech are struck with matching numbers 1. The lock plate is nicely engraved with symmetrical stylized foliage. The walnut stock is carved with rococo shells at the lock and chamfered edge checkered grips. It is in overall untouched excellent condition with small rust spot to the right muzzle.
