Large example with 8 1/8" wavy blade of thick diamond section, bright with light original tool finish. Brass cross guard with slender quillons. Large, finely worked black horn grip with inlaid brass diamonds and piques. Banded brass base ferrule. Hilt fine with a few tiny blemishes/checks as expected. This dagger is related to those produced at Toledo in the same decade. The slender cross guard is as encountered on "plug bayonets" from that group and the inlay is typically southern Spanish. Unlike the others, this is a heavy fighting knife made for use.
