FINE ROMAN PROSTITUTE'S RING, C.100-300 AD, SIZE 5

Gilt bronze, a little over size 5. Rounded face band 3.4mm width. Pyramidal form bezel with stepped reeded expanded edge.  Superficially imitating a gemstone and blatantly advertising the intentions of the wearer. Roman prostitutes were typically adolescents, largely slaves. Prostitution was practiced openly with brothels sometimes sharing doors with libraries. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.  About as good as they come.
