12 1/2” length, iron, finely forged with leaf shaped point over rectangular section bolster, each side with a row of chisel raised barbs. The base with an opposing pair. Forged seam conical socket decorated in bands of geometry. The bolster with bands of hatching and the point with line bands shadowing the profile. Superior quality, even for these which are typically very skillfully made. Excellent with original light tool finish. Probably brought back to England after one of the major battles, probably Omdurman.
