14” length, slightly tapered sides with double grips, the forward of which slides to reveal the concealed inner blade. The hilt and outer blade bases with silver koftgari decoration, virtually complete. The inner blade with a silver floral display. The outer and blades of fine whorl patterned watered steel. The inner blade of watered steel in a larger and more linear pattern. All in excellent preservation with a minor weak spot or two and very minor black staining. Nearly all of these scissor katars are identical and obviously from the same workshop. This example is different in detail and construction. In addition to its superior quality, the mechanics are crisp and precise, unlike the more common examples.
