Very skillfully crafted and finely finished and detailed. Possibly modeled on the armor of Vogt of Metsch preserved at Churburg, illustrated Arms and Armour, Norman, pl.50. 10 1/4" height with finely formed ridged peaked skull and pivoting visor, hinged at the bolts, with pierced conical "snout" and slit eyes. The edges with brass bans trim secured by brass rivets. The skull base pierced for a liner and mounted with bands of brass studs for attachment of a mail fall. Well aged with fine patina in and out. Excellent replacement for the unobtainable original.
