Forged iron of snaffle (hinged mouthpiece) form. Large circular rein rings, each of diamond section. The mouthpiece of two identical elements, each with a rounded square section bar tapered toward the joint. Each with a fine broad ring eye, and a forged raised medial. Professionally conserved excavated condition. This example is distinguished by its meticulous details which do not contribute to its function but reflect on the position of its owner. Additionally, it does not show wear from use as invariably found, suggesting that it was made for funerary use.
