Comprising a square head nail with the end pierced through a pyramidal shaped plate and peened in place. That technique lies at the heart of Viking ship construction where the hull was formed of overlapping planks secured with these two pieces. The ends slightly skewed as the planks were rived (split from the log) rather than tool finished. 2" inside span. The only example we have seen in private hands.
