Made for use against mail and plate armor. Iron, 11" length with open seam conical socket pierced for a securing pin. Sound excavated condition with some loss to the bottom edge of the socket and cutting edge. White calcified surface strongly suggesting that it was found in England. Form similar to the farm tool, but much heavier section form gripping plate armor and tearing it from its mail surrounds.
