Particularly large long proportions with 14" .90 cal octagonal/round barrel. The breech finely engraved with foliage. Beveled edge banana form lock with matching foliage. Brass furniture including spurred butt cap, trigger guard, side plate and ram rod pipe. Sold to or captured by the Turks and embellished with silver encasement of the fore end including a dummy ram rod fit into the original ram rod pipe. Double barrel bands and large silver overlays to the wrist and butt with silver wire between. Few small defects to the silver but intact and very showy. Good appropriate patina to the wood, barrel and lock. Lock functional. See Held#241 for a related Ottoman silver mounted European pistol. A large dazzling example.
