Three articulated plates comprising the front half of the gorget. The bottom plate with riveted edge. The top plate keyed for locking pins from the plates. The determination that it is the front derives from the fact that armor plates always overlap in the direction of attack. The edge of each plate decorated with an angle cable motif, characteristic of North Italian armor of the period. 10 1/2” width. From the Higgins Armor Museum, Worcester, MA, with identification number inside.
