8 3/4" height. Forged from one piece with ridged skull terminating in the characteristic "pear stalk." Down turned rim with rolled edge and sunk border. The base with a series of rivets in beaded rosettes, securing the leather liner band within. Superior preservation. The surface with original blue finish turning to brown in mottled pattern. Heavy example of a type so fundamental and functional, that they were used throughout Europe and the colonies including Colonial America.
