Excavated example from the famed collection of Chateau Heeswijk in North Brabant Holland. Iron, with branching cruciform guard and flattened pear shaped pommel. The blade of fine diamond section with slightly concave faces and tapered ricasso struck with an armorer's mark. 16 1/2" total length. A knightly sword made for use on horseback in full armor against an armored opponent. A sword of $10,000 or more value if complete in good condition.
