Rarely can an early knife or dagger be so precisely dated and specifically attributed. This example is from a group produced in Billingsgate, southeast London in the late 15th century by a group of Flemish cutlers who immigrated and set up shop there. The distinguishing feature is the latten pommels in the form of horse hoofs, completely with nail holes and calkins! Period of the House of York (an offshoot of the Plantagenet) including Henry VI & VII, Ricard III, and Edward V.
