Probably 1880's. Made by M C Lilly with characteristics of early manufacture. 28 1/4" blade, a little wider than usual, decorated with foliage, Masonic symbols and knights jousting scene. The decoration without the gold ground of later examples. Surface with smooth patina. Owner's name not traced. Bronze hilt and scabbard mounts finely hand detailed. Scabbard body with smooth chocolate patina and a little surface oxidation. Ivory grip with monogram and logo removed, evidently a funerary act.
