From Schindler’s Antiques, 200 King St, Charleston, SC, about 1980. 4 3/4” blade reshaped to present a point and curved slashing edge. Marked SANDERSON SHEAR STEEL YORKSHIRE. Recorded 1837 and after. Tip slightly cracked and bent. These were modified for use as weapons and patch knives as well as daily mess. Classic Confederate adaptation as used early in the War.
